Winter Winners!

A big thank you to everyone who entered the competition. This week we will be posting up the best of the entries and on Friday declaring the winner and runners up. The theme was on keeping relationships positive and upbeat, which is particularly important as we face into winter and exams.

Although winter can occasionally seem dark and bleak, it is in fact a very important season for the natural world around us. Leaves may fall and trees look bare, but beneath the ground the roots of trees and plants are digging down deeper into the soil, gathering up nutrients, growing stronger, building up a reserve of energy that will suddenly burst out in the spring time.

Humans would do well to take a lesson from the plants. The soil that nurtures us is our relationships with the people around us. Friendships in particular enrich your life and improve your health.

Friendships are also invaluable when it comes to dealing with more stressful moments in life like studying and preparing for exams

And if you do find yourself starting to worry, remember there are plenty of free or low cost things that you can do on campus to help with relaxation. Check out  massage, relaxation and meditation.

There are also plenty of ways to look after your general health, check out: Top Tips For Staying Healthy On Campus. For all you need to know about colds, flu & sore throats check out Sick Happens...

As for study and research the Fife & Tayside Wider Access Forum has great advice which have been posted up in this blog at:

In the meantime, relax, enjoy the competition essays and have a think about your own relationships and resilience.
